The following steps will definitely impress you superior and gain your associates respect:
Be knowledgeable about the company you are working for, understand its vision, mission, values and the company policies.
This is will set you apart from your associates as most of the companies employees don’t know these simple but important informations.
Do a biography research about your direct Manager and the Executive Management.
You need to educate yourself to understand your superior backgrounds for you to be able to communicate and reach out for them.
Ask questions, as lots of questions about the company history and future, ask about what is your main role within the company. Make sure you set and understand your job description and set your KPI’s for a professional evaluation, as without those you will be like a fish with no water !! You will be working hard for an unclear objective which eventually leads to unhealthy performance.
Never share your personal life with your associates and never speak negatively about any of the executives nor your associates as this weakens your professional positioning in the company and give the change for your associates to use it against you and lead to ending your career within the company.
Emails are a powerful tool, act professional and protect yourself by documenting everything through emails.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions as as much as you want as it is ok to ask and learn.
